SAVING TUVALU:   life on a small island - the best time to visit Tuvalu       Have you ever been on a kayak when your kayak was capsize for the first time and you feared for your life that you cant get out of the kayak? I felt just like that when I left the small tiny island of Niutao. If I can remember back when I was in my teens, I could simply say that it was the best time of my life, living on a 600 acres land with approximately around 200 residents! Everyone knows each other! And you don't want to cross no one. Because if you do, the whole island would give you a punishment and everyone would " fai kakala ." " Fai kakala " is a Samoa term for gossiping. In Tuvalu, the term is " fai tatala, " a more common form of the Samoan chiefly language.
